If you want to get the best SEO results with blogs you are in luck. SEO with blogs is easy because blogs lend themselves to good results.

One important item when trying to get better SEO results is to publish frequently. With a static website this can be difficult. With a blog it is very natural and easy.

Inbound linking is another important part of SEO and if you write interesting blog posts, people are far more likely to link to them vs a static website that only focuses on sales.

Blogs can also get improved SEO results because they have RSS built into them and you can use this RSS link to integrate your blog content into other tools that link back to your blog.

In your business, the Purpose of Blogging should be lead generation. Getting good search results with your blog will get the right people to your site and create more good leads.

Be sure to look at the different blog plugins as well, such as the All in one SEO plugin for Wordpress. These tools are often free and you can get great results with them.

How do you write blog posts for getting local results? Blog Writing is a great Content Marketing strategy and can produce very good local search results which improves your Blogging ROI.

This can be very effective for local businesses looking to do Interenet Marketing.

Here are some tips to improve the results you get for your blog writing with a local focus.

Use your local keywords – but do not ignore the other smaller keyword targets. Things like neighborhoods, small surrounding towns, parks, local sites etc.

Add your address in the footer of the blog and also use the city name in some of your blog posts. Having it more than once (but not too much) will increase the ranking.

Write about local businesses that are not direct competitors of yours. For example, if you are a realtor you might talk about home inspectors or home stagers.

Write about the community – If I am writing for a restaurant then I would write about what it playing at the cinema down the street and also local events.

These are just some of the obvious things that I would cover to hit a local market. Local markets have a huge advantage (especially in smaller cities) because there is much less competition and much better keyword focus. Your blog writing will be a great local content marketing strategy that gets results.

If I said that you could achieve greater client acquisition with business blogs, you might be skeptical.

However, that would probably be because of the word blog.

Forget blog, and think of it this way. You can greatly increase attraction and acquisition of clients if you produce regular articles and information that your target market is searching for and achieve high search engine ranking for that information.

That should make perfect sense. In fact, our entire Buzzoodle system is built on a blogging software engine that is optimized for ease of use, automatic search engine optimization and a heavy focus on lead generation and keyword ranking. And we do some serious client acquisition for our clients.

Then, if you optimize the articles with clear calls to action (offers) then you can get a higher percentage of people to give you their information for later followup.

A business blog can be the perfect vehicle to achieve this strategy, but most people get lost in the idea of a blog.

Using SEO for Lead Generation is not new. What we do that is new is that we have a very clear strategy that automates most of the SEO, includes basic link building and focuses on lead generation so that clients can measure ROI quickly and maximize their investment of money and time.

The tricky part is in the word automation. We do not automate article writing. We have a system that automates the targeting of keywords at a very affordable price point. You still need to either write articles or pay someone to write articles. And yes, we have a team of inbound marketing writers that you can work with.

But if you want to do the writing yourself, how long will it take?

This is an excellent question and not easy to answer because every industry and website is somewhat different. I have seen people get results in one week and I have seen other people take months to build up momentum and see a good return.

The key to remember is that just because we have automated the SEO targeting, we are not automating the content creation, and the more content you produce the more results you will get – faster.

A professional SEO Expert will spend 8 hours per week working on one website with a set of 20 keywords. They know that is what it takes.

A business owner might feel like they have done their duty by writing two or three articles in a month for inbound marketing, but really that is minimal. You might be able to get by with that if you have a well established site, but chances are you could do much better by doing more.

If you are using content marketing, you absolutely must keep adding fresh content into your website or blog.

That does not sound hard, but when content marketing starts getting big results, it is easy to get busy with all your new, fresh, targeted leads and you will become to busy to write on a weekly basis.

That is why it is really important to have a system or even hire a blog writer to keep your content marketing effort fresh and moving forward.

I had a recent client that does not care about leads – he simply writes a horse racing business blog about the industry and has used content to establish himself as an expert in the field. He took a three week vacation, and was not worried too much about what would happen to his blog as it was only three weeks off.

He came back, looked at Google Analytics and emailed me. He said he should have scheduled at least a few articles to publish while he was gone because the drop off was dramatic.

Internet Marketing using Content Marketing strategies is very effective, but you have to plan on keeping up with it even when you get busy or go on vacation.

Take a look at those articles and think about what is best for you. SEO is a broad set of skills, not one set of established skills. Some people excel at link building while others use SEO with Blogs to get results. Just make sure you understand what your goals are and find someone that can help you get there.
