Blog Writing for Local Leads

How do you write blog posts for getting local results?   Blog Writing is a great Content Marketing strategy and can produce very good local search results which improves your Blogging ROI.

This can be very effective for local businesses looking to do Interenet Marketing.

Here are some tips to improve the results you get for your blog writing with a local focus.

  1. Use your local keywords – but do not ignore the other smaller keyword targets.  Things like neighborhoods, small surrounding towns, parks, local sites etc.
  2. Add your address in the footer of the blog and also use the city name in some of your blog posts.  Having it more than once (but not too much) will increase the ranking.
  3.  Write about local businesses that are not direct competitors of yours.  For example, if you are a realtor you might talk about home inspectors or home stagers.
  4. Write about the community – If I am writing for a restaurant then I would write about what it playing at the cinema down the street and also local events.

These are just some of the obvious things that I would cover to hit a local market.  Local markets have a huge advantage (especially in smaller cities) because there is much less competition and much better keyword focus.  Your blog writing will be a great local content marketing strategy that gets results.

Content Marketing and Fresh Content

If you are using content marketing, you absolutely must keep adding fresh content into your website or blog.

That does not sound hard, but when content marketing starts getting big results, it is easy to get busy with all your new, fresh, targeted leads and you will become to busy to write on a weekly basis.

That is why it is really important to have a system or even hire a blog writer to keep your content marketing effort fresh and moving forward.

I had a recent client that does not care about leads – he simply writes a horse racing business blog about the industry and has used content to establish himself as an expert in the field.  He took a three week vacation, and was not worried too much about what would happen to his blog as it was only three weeks off.

He came back, looked at Google Analytics and emailed me.  He said he should have scheduled at least a few articles to publish while he was gone because the drop off was dramatic.

Internet Marketing using Content Marketing strategies is very effective, but you have to plan on keeping up with it even when you get busy or go on vacation.

Make Money with Blogs

Here at Buzzoodle, we focus mostly on how to generate leads for your business with a combination of content marketing and clear calls to action.  This same technique is a great way for someone to work from home and make money blogging.

Once you get good at the keyword research and search engine optimization strategies, you can create websites that will draw in targeted leads and capture their information.

Have you ever thought about capturing leads and selling them to local businesses?

For example, would a financial planner split the commission with you for financial leads you generate that they close?  I get offers like this all the time.  That is why we help people build their own lead generation websites – because the value is so high and the cost is very reasonable.

You can make money with blogs just by perfecting this technique and selling  leads to local businesses.

What is Content Marketing?

Content Marketing is when you intentionally create content that draws people to your company.

The most obvious Content Marketing is writing articles that get ranked well in search engines and generate organic visitors to your site – where ideally you encourage them to start a relationship with you by downloading a free report, signing up for a course, registering to watch a video or any number of other options.

Content marketing is also when you produce content for other sites that encourage people to visit your site.  For example, a video may be watched on one of the video hosting websites but contain the web address of your site, which would result in people visiting your main website after consuming your content on another website where they found it.

Inbound Marketing is another name for Content Marketing.  I like the term Inbound Marketing because it shows what makes this form of marketing so different from others.  You are helping people come to you instead of traditional, interuption marketing.
